This one-day festival celebrates the arrival of the endangered black-necked cranes from Tibet during winter. Also referred to as ‘heavenly birds,’ they fly into Phobjikha valley and encircle the Gangtey Monastery. While a variety of folk and sacred dances can be witnessed, the highlight of the festival is the Crane Dance, which school kids perform.
This Festival Tour will include cultural and sightseeing tours to Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha.
